Many people experience feelings of sadness once in a while, however, when these feelings don’t go away after an extended period of time this might mean you are experiencing clinical depression. Someone who is depressed may not even realize they have it. By understanding and recognizing the symptoms of depression, one can take the first steps toward recovery and seek treatment. 1. Loss of interest in things they normally enjoy

2. Feelings of helplessness or hopelessness

3. Changes in sleep patterns

4. Changes in appetite or weight

5. Loss of energy

6. Isolating from friends or family

7. Anger or irritability

8. Reckless behavior

9. Trouble concentrating

10. Physical aches and pain
