Elizabeth Cermak, LCPC, NCC

Elizabeth specializes in Mindfulness, Hypnotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. She is a spiritual counselor who helps her clients find their deeper connection to this world through mindfulness, meditation, and hypnotherapy. Elizabeth can help clients who have concerns with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, compuslive eating, and other compulsive behaviors. She also runs an ongoing stop-smoking hypnotherapy group. Elizabeth is not accepting new clients at this time. Craig Janowiak, LPC, NCC

Craig’s experience includes working with youth and young adults and their families. As a multifaceted counselor, Craig utilizes his understanding of an array of therapeutic techniques and strategies to help improve the quality of life for all of his clients. With bilingual services provided (English/Spanish), he is currently accepting new clients in the Lake in the Hills and Schaumburg offices. Jon Difatta, M.A. Psy., LPC, CDVP, PAIP

Jon works with teens and pre-teens in school settings discussing and giving presentations on young adult issues such as bullying, sexual harassment, sexual assault and dating safety. Jon’s presentations are insightful and informative which provokes teens to feel at ease and discuss these topics in a non-threatening environment. Lora brings over 20 years of experience working with adolescents and families. She believes in Choice Therapy and being in the here and now. Michelle Wernberg, MA, LPC

Michelle’s area of focus is anxiety, depression, self-harm, trauma, eating disorder issues, and self-esteem issues for adolescents and adults. She utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Approach while integrating mindfulness, body awareness, distress tolerance skills, and relaxation techniques. Camille Williams, M.A., LCPC

Camille focuses on guiding and empowering clients to make positive change in their life through the use of existential therapy and DBT. Camille works with individuals of all ages struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, and interpersonal relationship conflict. Anita Smullin, LCPC

Anita’s experience in college counseling centers provide her with expertise in career and personal development. Her warm, relaxed and comfortable approach to counseling enables her clients to be at ease when meeting with her. She utilizes a cognitive behavioral and solution focused approach working with her clients to provide them with the best possible care. Angie Fitch, M.A. LCPC, NCC

Angie specializes in helping individuals, couples and families become empowered in making meaningful, long-lasting changes. She partners with clients to improve and gain control of symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma and anger.You will find authentic interactions with her as your therapist, providing opportunity for real positive change in your relationships through interpersonal skill building. Angie has training and experience in specific therapies including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to help address immediate concerns.From an existential and faith-based counseling perspective, she can also focus on long-term, in-depth work and spiritual issues. Brandy Hanson, M.S., LPC, NCC

Brandy works with children, teens, college students, young adults, couples and families on a variety of presenting concerns. She believes in guiding and empowering her clients to overcome whatever challenges they are facing in life and works with each client’s unique needs so that he or she can reach their own goals. Brandy deals with such issues as anxiety, depression, transitioning into adulthood and the world of work, parenting, finding purpose and meaning, couples issues, women’s issues, and infertility. Maureen Chambers, LPC

Maureen provides individual, couples, and family therapy to adults and adolescents. Her areas of focus include working through trauma and family issues, in improving self-esteem, and in building healthy relationships. She has a passion for supporting women during pregnancy and as they become new mothers. Using a variety of research-based therapy techniques, Maureen takes a strengths-based approach to help you improve self-esteem, develop healthier relationships, manage overwhelming emotions, and increase motivation. Dani Avallone, LCPC

Dani Avallone specializes in working with teens, individuals and families in crisis.  She is trained in Multi Systemic Family Therapy and has vast experience working with the Juvenile and Adult Court Systems.  She helps clients who struggle with substance abuse, depression, and mood disorders by assisting them in replacing destructive coping strategies with healthy coping techniques.  She uses an honest, interactive, and eclectic approach and tailors the therapy to the individual client’s needs.  She provides her clients with psychoeducation on mental health, emotional dysregulation and provides them with the tools and guidance needed to experience success in their lives.  Dani is currently accepting clients in St. Charles, Warrenville, Schaumburg and Lake in the Hills. Clint Zavakos, LCPC

Clint brings 10 years experience in the behavioral health field. He specializes in trauma, anxiety, depression and men’s issues. Clint utilizes an eclectic approach that incorporates Person Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral techniques. He is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma treatment. He is currently accepting new clients in the Schaumburg and Warrenville Offices. Alan Tsang, Clinical Intern

Alan’s focus includes depression, anxiety, grief, and communication issues in adults. He utilizes a person-centered approach and incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Existential Therapy. He believes that no one person is the same, and focuses on the client’s specific needs and goals for a meaningful life. Heather Holly, MA, Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

Heather focuses on working with children, couples, and families.  She has her master’s in Psychology and is working on a second degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Heather also has experience working in a variety of social service roles and would love to be your guide and advocate.  Heather also identifies as an LGBT ally and would be honored to work with you on issues related to identity, coming out, or family reactions to your identity.  Heather utilizes a variety of treatment models, including Gottman Couples therapy, Bowen Family Systems, Solution Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.  Heather is currently accepting clients in Schaumburg. Lori Kaniewski, Clinical Intern

Lori’s focus includes communication and relationship issues, anxiety, stress, and life changes for adolescents and adults. She utilizes a person-centered and choice theory approach to counseling while incorporating solution-focused techniques, as well as mindfulness skills. Before beginning her journey to become a licensed professional counselor, Lori worked with children and families by offering support and care for children after school as well during school breaks. She has a great passion for helping people discover their strengths and find their motivation to improve their quality of life. Logan Proia

Logan is our certified therapy dog and is owned by our therapist Lora Proia. Logan often accompanies Lora during her counseling sessions to provide comfort for clients in the Saint Charles, Warrenville and Schaumburg locations.

Sampson Owens

Sampson is Dr. Alan Owens’ certified pet therapy dog, and he just received his certification from the Canine Good Citizen Program! This means he has succeeded in passing a rigorous test of temperament, commands, walking, reactions to people & distractions, & separations from owner. He also passes as being super handsome.
